A native of Washington, D.C., Keith Flemons graduated from
North Carolina A & T State University with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Industrial Technology - Electronics. He
currently holds a full-time position as a Systems Engineer
with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
(WMATA).
Since the 1980s, Mr. Flemons has been involved with producing and providing engineering support for gospel radio
and television programs. He is the Chief Engineer for the Church of the Rapture (formerly the Free Evangelistic Church) under
the auspices of the Honorable Dr. Theresa A. Garrision. He does production work as well as announcements for the church's
radio programs. He has also been involved with providing engineering services and co-producing the Church of the Rapture’s
television program which has aired on several local television stations. His sound engineering experience dates back to the
1980s and he has done sound system installation work for churches and studios.
Mr. Flemons was responsible for putting together a video production section for WMATA’s Rail Training Branch
in the 90s. He led in the production of various training videos for the agency. His versatility allowed him to merge his pure
engineering talents and his love of videography to co-design and build a rail car training simulator. This simulator is a
full-scale mock-up of the operator’s cab of a Metro rail car. The unit provided an actual track video shot and was edited
to laser disc by Mr. Flemons. The video was then presented on a big screen TV as a training tool for operator trainees sitting
at actual rail car consoles. The console controls were sent to a computer which controlled the laser disc video, giving the
trainees the feeling of acceleration and braking as they operated the controls. Mr. Flemons added realistic audio to the mix
via digital samplers which were once again controlled by the operators’ console controls. The project was highly lauded
by the Transit Agency as this simulator is the only such kind in any public
transit agency.
Mr. Flemons has dedicated his life to serving the Lord and his talents toward furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
